Krokus Gallery was founded in spring 2008. Our objective is to offer a representative exhibition platform in the centre of Bratislava to local and foreign artists, to work together both with already established artists and young talent, and to present to the public works by exceptional personalities from the contemporary art scene.

Apart from regular exhibitions, other activities of Krokus include publishing catalogues, intensive co-operation with Slovak and foreign institutes in the field of art and culture, participating in international art fairs, communicating with collectors, and consulting regarding purchasing works of art.

OPTICA Video Art Festival -- PARIS, 2nd edition

OPTICA est un Festival International d'Art Vidéo créé en 2005 par l'association espagnole Interferencias (Colectivo Interferencias) originaire de Gijon (Asturies/Espagne).La programmation d'OPTICA est un panorama de la production indépendante internationale d'Art vidéo de l'année en cours, qui donne à voir des travaux en provenance de tous pays, aussi bien d'artistes émergents que d'artistes confirmés.


Depuis 2005 le Festival OPTICA a étendu sa diffusion en Espagne aux villes de Madrid (2008), Huarte & Cordoue (2009), en Amérique Latine à La Paz et Buenos Aires (2009), et pour la première fois hors des pays hispanophones en France à Paris (2009).
La page facebook "groupe OPTICA Paris" est dédiée plus particulièrement à l'édition parisienne du Festival OPTICA, en vous inscrivant à cette page, vous serez tenus informés de la programmation (artistes, lieux, horaires, etc ...) spécifiques à Paris.
Vous pouvez retrouver toutes les villes d'accueil du Festival OPTICA via facebook, chacune d'entre elles a créé une page "groupe", nous vous invitons vivement à vous inscrire à ces différents groupes pour vous tenir informés de tous les évenements OPTICA dans le monde (la programmation est sensiblement différente dans chaque ville).

La toute nouvelle programmation OPTICA 2010 a commencé sa "tournée" en Septembre dernier par les villes de Cordoue et Madrid, les prochaines étapes sont Gijon (21-23 /10/10), Buenos Aires (28- 30/10/10) et bientôt Paris (du 17 au 20 novembre 2010).

OPTICA PARIS :

En 2009, le programme OPTICA Paris édition 1, a été diffusé du 24 au 26 Septembre Salle Luis Bunuel du Collège d'Espagne (Cité Universitaire Internationale - Paris 14).

Exceptional performance on the humanity of a terrible love; a shared architecture, muscled by words and rude liberty, about ‘fixing of the body’ over the exterior milieu, with the heart poised above the gut, a constructed metaphor for the staticism of love, that sometimes you just have to tell the whole world about it.

Il caos #2 - Le migrazioni / Venezia - dal 27 agosto al 19 settembre 2010

IL CAOS is an exhibition project, begun in 2009 and promoted by San Servolo Servizi in collaboration with the Province of Venice, which will unfold over a period of three years, with three exhibitions addressing issues central to the life of our society: work, migration and conflict.

The trilogy will be developed within LightOn San Servolo – a project dedicated to photography and video art, held on the island – and takes its name from the column by Pier Paolo Pasolini published in the weekly magazine Tempo from the 6th August 1968 to the 24th January 1970, and dedicated to him.

This year the second part of the project, focused on migration, sees the work of seven artists, Italian and international: Theo Eshetu presenting his video installation set in Etiopia Trip to Mount Zugualla, and images from backstage; Michael Fliri with his video Early one morning with time to waste; H.H.Lim with video work and photos from the series Vittorio Square; Paolo Meoni with video work and photos from the series Rette Convergenti; Alex Mirutziu with the photographic series The colour of my middle class; Ivana Spinelli with the installation GPU Pass Clandestino; and Driant Zeneli with the video This will be my space!.

On display will also be the documentary video Il futuro sospeso, produced by NGO Progettomondo Mlal, directed by Annamaria Gallone: this year this will be a sort of open window onto reality which the exhibition whishes to open up and with which the public is invited to meet.
