The 2025 summer edition of SAT brings together contemporary Romanian artists engaged in an exploration of the boundaries between the visible and the invisible, between the concrete and the illusory — in a moment when reality itself seems to be fragmenting in ways increasingly difficult to map.

We are living under what Byung-Chul Han calls a regime of infocracy — a system ruled not by a lack of information, but by its overwhelming excess. In this era, reality is no longer shaped by direct experience or coherent narratives, but by accelerated flows of data, images, and contradictory signals. Instead of a stable truth or a well-crafted illusion, we navigate a mental landscape marked by hyper-transparency, informational noise, and the constant erosion of depth. In this context, the artistic act becomes a gesture of reconnection—with perception, with reflection, with the fragment as a form of resistance.

The works presented in this SAT edition do not aim to “clarify” reality, but rather to mirror its discontinuous complexity. They offer visual inquiries that slip through layers of the visible, fracture appearances, and create space for critical reflection.

SAT 2025 – Interrupted Realities thus becomes an intermediate space, where visual fragments act as micro-resistances to the dominant logic of infocracy. Here, meaning is not delivered instantly—it is intuited, discovered, and built together with the viewer.

SAT – THE SMALLEST ART FAIR IN TOWN grounds its identity in essential principles that reflect the current shifts and needs of the contemporary art market: collaboration, accessibility, and support for its sustainable development. In contrast to the conventional fair format, SAT proposes a shared exhibition space that fosters direct interaction between galleries, artists, and audiences. With free access for both galleries and visitors, SAT addresses a broad public, from seasoned collectors to those just beginning their journey, encouraging a new generation of contemporary art supporters.
